Property building in Hotel Rector
One of the most wonderful places we stayed was Hotel Rector in Salamanca. Absolute best hospitality! We had the luxurious suite with the largest bed I’ve ever seen, marble bathroom w/double sinks and separate bath and shower, and living room. Before we could get out of the car, Ignacio was there to swoop us inside, and put the car in their garage. In our room, there was a nice bottle of chilled cava in a champagne bucket and snacks waiting for us. Each day, the staff gave us gifts and edible treats. The gave a lovely parting gift, snacks, and water when we checked out. The breakfast service was old world wonderful. The only con was they didn’t have a restaurant. But, I recall reading that they could prepare small things for you to eat in your room or in the breakfast room. We should have done that because we found it difficult to find good fits for dinner in Salamanca. We hadn’t yet adjusted to the late Spanish dining time. Salamanca a stunning city and very easy to access from the hotel.

The hotel's location is fantastic—close to all the major attractions yet tucked away enough to provide a peaceful retreat. It was the perfect base for exploring the city, and we appreciated how convenient it was to get around. Our room was absolutely stunning, beautifully decorated, and incredibly comfortable. The bed was like a dream, and we loved the luxurious touches throughout. It was a true haven to return to after a day of sightseeing. We are so glad we chose Hotel Rector for our stay. I recently had the pleasure of staying at hotel rector and I must say it was a fantastic experience from start to finish. The hotel exceeded my expectations in every way! We had a long day before we arrived at Salamanca. We arrived at the hotel around 11:40 pm. Before we arrived, the front desk had contacted us for the arrangement of the late check-in. From the moment we walked in, the staff at the front desk made us feel welcome. The check-in process was smooth and efficient, and we were offered a complimentary drink and snacks while we waited. Our rooms were spotless and beautifully decorated, with a perfect blend of comfort and style. The bed was incredibly comfortable, the linens were fresh. I also appreciated the attention to detail, like the luxurious toiletries and the cozy robe provided. I would highly recommend it to anyone visiting the area.

The breakfast spread is not a usual hotel buffet. It is an exceptional spread of fruits, pastries, cake, cold meats and cheeses. In addition you can order eggs to your liking, freshly cooked toast, freezely squeezed juice & a plate of freshly cut fruit. I did not need lunch although stopping for a coffee at one of the many cafes in Salamanca is a must. The staff also provided a takeaway breakfast the morning of my departure at 5am. This hotel only has 14 rooms, an amazing reception and lounge area and 24 hour bar. It is exceptionally well furnished & comfortable. The staff are amazing. It is located just opposite the old city wall not far from the cathedrals, a perfect location for most of the sites. The hotel provides a map of the main sites and opening times which was very useful. I saw everything marked on the map in 1 and half very full days

The hotel also boasts its own garage, with valet parking, and a small gym, although most people will certainly prefer to explore the beautiful city centre of this lovely city. The main attraction of Hotel Rector, though, is its staff, who were extremely professional, friendly and corteous: they got in touch right before we arrived to check if there were any special needs and tended to all our requests with the nicest of smiles!
